Endurance Sculpture
In June 2012, a 12-foot steel and glass mosaic sculpture by visual artist Cheryl Foster—was unveiled at the West Atlantic Plaza, corner of SW 5th and West Atlantic Avenues. Entitled “Endurance”, the sculpture pays homage to the strength of Delray’s original African American and Caribbean settlers who survived by using the fishing and agricultural skills brought with them from their homelands. In August of 2012, the park was renamed in honor of Elizabeth “Libby” Jackson Wesley, a longtime resident and community activist.
